Biography

Alex is a composer, sound designer and field recordist residing in the traditional territories of the scəw̓ aθən məsteyəxʷ (Tsawassen) and xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) first nations. 

 

Through interests in linear/non-linear media, sound, and technology, he aims to create visceral experiences in his many pathways of working. He has worked on numerous film sets, scored and created sound design for short films, and licensed field recordings to some industry-leading companies. He recently received the Marcia Award in Electroacoustics and will be releasing an electroacoustic album on Syrphe later this year.
